Update: WebEx Layoffs Story Is A Hoax

Earlier this week I reported a story from the India Times saying that WebEx had laid off employees and shuffled management roles and titles. I promised an update if I found more information, and today I saw another report from India.

A news story in SiliconIndia rebuts the other column and quotes a WebEx official as saying "It's a hoax. Though there was internally mapping being done, as a part of Cisco's acquisition, there is no change in the roles. One the contrary, the company is in a hiring spree. It is planning to add 15 to 20 percent of its current sales team with 50 employees."

Apparently WebEx even had to send out emails to its employees in India to tell them that the rumors were false.
