I've blogged this before. No doubt I'll blog it again. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of making it a weekly feature.
"DON'T READ THE TEXT OFF YOUR SLIDES!"
I had to sit through yet another webinar recording today featuring a speaker who did nothing more than read the text word for word off his slides. Honestly, folks... If you're going to do that, save your company the time and money and just email your audience the slide deck.
By the way, if your slides even PERMIT reading the text off them, they are WAY too wordy. Save copywriting for white papers and marketing collateral. Slides should encapsulate key points in a visually arresting manner, while you fill in the informational content with your scintillating elocution skills. Don't have scintillating elocution skills? Call me. I can help.
