I have mentioned Robin Good in this blog some time in the past. He supplies a lot of collaboration news and reviews, concentrating on smaller entrepreneurial companies serving the individual and small group online collaboration marketplace (his words). I like reading his pieces because I concentrate more on the enterprise one-to-many presentation market, so we don't overlap all that much and I can often learn about new, small companies and products that are good for fully interactive "group meetings."
Robin just published a nice article about gathering information on the electronic collaboration industry. He mentions a number of sources, and talks in generic terms about using RSS to gather feeds from a variety of publishers.
Of course this is what I do as I update the Webinar Success Industry News page each day. If you are interested, I use Feedreader as my RSS aggregator and I use Feed Rinse as a filtering system to pull articles of interest. I then go through every result manually to filter out duplicates and fluff pieces. After reading the article and deciding it is of interest to my audience, I update the web page (usually done once each evening).
I currently have 12 Google alerts and 29 RSS feeds scanned for news on webinars, web conferencing, webcasting, and so on. Robin doesn't mention tying in to the major newswire services to get the latest press releases, but I think this is critical. You should make sure you are scanning Business Wire, PR Newswire, and Market Wire at a minimum, although there are many more that provide additional listings.
The problem with online information has turned from one of having information available to one of filtering through the sheer mass of information out there. I hope my efforts are useful to you as far as enterprise web conferencing is concerned.
