Yes, it's absolutely true. Webex just announced that they are buying a new line of products from CCR. Webex will take over all brand rights, products, proprietary designs, and technical documentation.
Does it seem strange that a company that just got acquired should be buying up other companies' products? Not really... This Webex doesn't capitalize the second E in their name. This one is Webex, Inc. - not WebEx Communications. This Webex is "a leading manufacturer of precision rollers for the web handling and converting industry."
I have no idea what that means, but I'm fairly sure it is not directly involved with collaborative internet-based communications. File this one away the next time you want to win a bar bet among computer geeks. Happy Friday!
