And the field of independent conferencing vendors shrinks by one more. AT&T just announced that they will buy voice/video/web conferencing provider Interwise for $121 million.
Interwise joins the ranks of web conferencing names acquired in recent years by larger corporate communications entities. Placeware, Raindance, WebEx, Breeze, and Interwise Connect are all serving new masters. Who's next? Feel free to send in your guesses. I've said it before and I'll say it again... My money is on iLinc getting gobbled up. Their stock price is ridiculously cheap and they have a suite of stable conferencing products. (I'll also say again that I have heard absolutely no information or even rumors on this subject... It's pure supposition on my part).
Feel free to play along!
