Larry Kilbourne has just published the first article in a three-part series on “Ways Webinars Fail.” Go read it.
Larry is a marketing expert who happens to be “into webinars.” He has contributed his thoughts and comments on several posts I have written and was kind enough to let me see a sneak peek of his webinar trilogy before it goes live to the public. His articles are much more extensive and well written than you typically find in blog entries. He eloquently goes into detail - with plenty of practical examples - as he discusses issues of content, layout, and delivery of marketing presentations.
I love his use of embedded SlideShare decks to show concepts he discusses in the article. It demonstrates why a bit of visual reinforcement greatly helps communicate above and beyond a text-only approach.
Larry will be releasing this series each Wednesday over the next few weeks. Stay with it… There’s a lot of good information in there. I’ll just add briefly that the concepts Larry introduces apply outside of his chosen niche. Good presentation construction and delivery is just as vital in sales, education, employee communications, and other applications of web conferencing as it is in marketing webinars.
