Let’s continue looking at some of the audience questions from my latest webinar on presentation skills. (For a recap of the context and previous questions, see “Questions About Webinar Presentation”).
Richard: When we have several speakers, should we show a slide with their pictures?
Answer: That’s always a nice idea. People like to put a face with a voice. I like to put headshots, names, and titles on a general introductory slide at the beginning and at the end (during the Q&A session). I also put an introductory slide for each speaker before their section highlighting their picture, name, and title. It acts as a good buffer and segue point between speakers. It should go without saying, but use a professional head shot that highlights the speaker’s face. I have seen vacation photos taken from a distance and family portraits!
Judy: What are brand names of good quality headsets?
Answer: I’ve got to tell you, I’m not a professional headset reviewer. I have had very good luck with Plantronics headsets. I prefer wired over wireless for the confidence that I won’t pick up interference from radio signals, mobile devices, etc. I also prefer a binaural design that covers both ears. I don’t want to hear outside announcements and distractions while I’m presenting. Their SupraPlus and Encore series are both excellent. I’m currently using an H101N with an M12 amplifier to connect it to my business phone. There are plenty of other options, but I haven’t had to look for others because these work perfectly for me.
Oops… Time to go to work on another project. More later!
