A trainer recently asked me for the ability to do something in an online session that is common in local training… Get an audio/video recording of a student and immediately play it back for commentary and skills refinement.
This is standard practice in learning how to conduct on-camera interviews, public speaking, or other personal interaction skills. Nothing helps students like seeing themselves as others see them. In a classroom, you simply set up a video recorder, do the exercise, rewind, and play it back on a monitor. No muss, no fuss. Instant feedback.
But I started thinking about all the web conferencing packages I work with and I don’t think any of them have this capability. Can you record an audio/video window of a participant and instantly make it available for playback within the same session, with pause/continue/rewind controls?
If you know of a web collaboration product with this functionality, please add a comment so we can all benefit. If nobody offers it, I think it’s needed.
