Toni asked an excellent question on a LinkedIn group for Webcasting Professionals. I don’t have a good answer, so I’m throwing this out there to my community.
Is there a good software solution for webinar/webcast administrators to help manage the production/preparation process?
Note that we are not talking about the standard event scheduling and registration functions present in the web conferencing solutions themselves. This question deals with the larger coordination challenge of managing the full webinar lifecycle for multiple web events during planning, preparation, and production.
Speaker information, deadlines for content drafts, review and approval signoffs, promotional materials developed/approved/sent, surveys created, rehearsals scheduled, etc, etc, etc.
It needs to be able to handle this for multiple webinars/webcasts overlapping during prep phases. Because many different people in remote locations contribute, it needs to be on the cloud and simultaneously accessible, but password restricted.
Sure, you could use some generic project management software, but it would be sweet if somebody had templates and tools customized for webcast management.
Do you have a better solution than spreadsheets, Word docs, calendar appointments, and emails? Please add a comment on this blog post (visit The Webinar Blog if you are viewing this in another reader.)
